A funny thing happened on the way to LA
I 'd taken our daughter to Marianne Williamson's LA Sister Giant Conference in November 2012.
The Williamson, a petite figure, stood on stage and told us that hyena mothers keep the pack from eating until all their pups have had their fill. And that one in five American children would go to bed hungry that night. She pointed at us and said in her huge, inspired voice: "If hyenas can feed their young, so can we. Feed the babies and feed them now!"
I was hooked, found RESULTS, the international advocacy non-partisan non-profit dedicated to ending poverty and systemic racism in the US and around the world. My husband and I have been raising our voices ever since.
Democracy is not a spectator sport. Together we can change the world a letter, an opinion piece, a call at a time. Here are a few of the many I've penned. Encouraging you to join in, too!
